April 1993 •
Pn Job No.: EK-6032-2
Document No.: 4304-4015.WPT
r
Laboratory Analis
The soil and groundwater samples collected during this investigation will be analyzed in the
following manner:
• Soil and groundwater samples from the two borings located adjacent to the auto
wrecking yard will be analyzed for the presence of total petroleum hydrocarbons as
gasoline (TPHG) and diesel (TPHD),benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, and xylenes
(BTEX),and oil and grease(O&G). The soil samples collected at a depth of 5 feet
in each boring will be composited at the laboratory into one sample for analysis.
Soil samples from a depth of 10 feet in each boring will also be composited in a
similar manner. The soil samples collected at approximate depths of 15, 20 and 25
feet will be tested with an OVM and submitted for laboratory analysis if deemed
necessary by the ESE geologist.
• The soil samples from the three borings to be drilled along the auto wrecking yard
adjacent to the southern site boundary will be composited and analyzed in the same
manner as those described above. The groundwater samples for the both of these
areas of investigation will be analyzed for TPHG, TPHD, BTEX,and O&G.
• Soil samples collected from the two borings to be drilled next to the diesel tank at
the Thorsen Trucking facility will be analyzed for TPHD. The samples from
equivalent depths in the borings will be composited into one sample for analysis.
We anticipate that we will analyze 4 composite soil samples from this area. A
HydroPunchTM groundwater sample from one of these borings will be tested for
the presence of TPHD.
• The three shallow soil samples collected with the hand sampler at the trucking
facility will also be composited into one sample for analysis. It will be analyzed for
TPHG, TPHD, BTEX, and O & G.
• The four shallow samples collected with the hand sampler from each vacant parcel
will be composited into one sample. This will result in three.composite samples
which will be analyzed for the presence of chlorinated pesticides using EPA method
8080.
Site Investigation Report_Preparation
ESE will prepare a site investigation report presenting the findings of the investigation. The report
will include:
• Field procedures for exploratory drilling and sampling.
• Results of analytical testing.
• A-site map showing features relevant to the investigation.
• Boring logs for each exploration boring drilled.
• Conclusions and recommendations based on the findings.
