J
LIGHT, AIR & SPACE CONSTRUCTION
ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES COMPANY
i
State Contractor's License Number 445403
State EPA R.E.A.Number 04072
Office 408-979-0661
The contaminant mass estimate in groundwater used the UST pit sample and groundwater well
samples. A rough estimate of the quantity of dissolved TPHD is 0.01 gallon. A rough estimate
of the quantity of dissolved TPHG is 0.001 gallon. TPHD was not observed in monitoring wells
sampling. The one detection of TPHG in MW-1 in 2008 was noted by the laboratory as not
resembling the typical pattern for gasoline. MTBE was detected only in Well MW-3 in March
17,2009 at 4 Ug/l, below the MCL of 13 Ug/l.
I
14.0 Risk Assessment Model !
A risk assessment model was not performed for this site.
15.0 Transport and Fate Models
A transport and fate model was not performed for this site.
16.0 Remaining Conditions at this Site
It is our opinion that the remaining conditions at this site will not adversely affect water quality
for human health or other beneficial uses. The source of the petroleum fuels (USTs and affected
soil) has been removed. The March 2009 groundwater samples from monitoring wells MW-1
and MW-2 adjacent to the former UST pits show that contaminants are not present. MTBE
detections at well MW-3 are well below the current MCL. A sample taken from the on-site
drinking water well showed that contaminants were not detected in the well. The UST removal
and soil excavation removed the residual fuel source, with only one detection of MTBE that was
present in MW3 in the December 2008 and March 2009 sampling events. In our opinion, the
monitoring well data does not show a dissolved plume with the exception of the two MTBE
detections; the source of this extremely low MTBE is not known; and MTBE was not detected in
any other soil or groundwater sample. Therefore, no threat to the on-site drinking water well or
other water wells in the area is indicated by this data in our opinion.
17.0 Technical Reports '
The technical reports for this site are listed in the References.
i
18.0 Additional Comments
There are no additional comments for this NFAR report.
MAIN OFFICE • 1707 LITTLE ORCHARD STREET,SUITE A •SAN JOSE•CA•95125
MAILING ADDRESS•P.O.Box 36303•SAN JOSE•CA•95158.6303•4081979-0661 -4081979-0621 FAX•LASCONST@AOL.COM E-MAIL
GENERAL AND ENGINEERING CONTRACTOR•HAzARDOUS SUBSTANCE REMOVAL CONTRACTOR-SITE ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENTS
WETLAND AND RIPARIAN HABITAT—ASSESSMENT—DESIGN—RESTORATION—CONSTRUCTION—MITIGATION MONITORING
