McKinley Ave., Manteca, CA 95336
UST Site Code: #39-0515755&56; ROM 1780 PR#: 0525999
LA&S Project Number 0616
Dear Mr. Infurna,
At the request of the property owner, Dutra Farms Inc., Light, Air and Space Construction
(LA&S) has prepared the following Proposed Work Plan for Monitoring Well Installations to
further delineate extent of hydrocarbon contamination found in the soil and groundwater by
previous environmental investigations at the subject site by LA&S. The County of San Joaquin
Environmental Health Department (EHD) has requested this additional delineation work for the
two underground fuel storage tanks removed at the above referenced site.
1.0 Background
The subject property is located on the southwestern side of west side of South McKinley
Avenue at 19589 McKinley Avenue (about 250 feet south of Bronzan Road) in Manteca, CA.
Two 1,000-gallon underground petroleum fuel storage tanks were removed from the property on
December 21, 2004. The tanks were removed under approved EHD permits and the results of
the tank removal were presented in LA&S report dated January 5, 2005. Total Petroleum
Hydrocarbons as Gasoline and Diesel (TPHG and TPHD) were detected in soil underlying the
former tanks. The most elevated values were 690 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg) TPHG and
24,000 mg/kg TPHD under UST-2. Xylenes and Lead were detected in some soil samples.
BTEX, MTBE and oxygenates were not detected in any soil sample (see LA&S January 5, 2006
report for complete results).
LA&S performed excavation of contaminated soil from the former tank pits in 2006. BTEX,
MTBE and oxygenates and Ethanol were not detected in any soil sample or water sample.
Organochlorine pesticides were not detected in the one soil sample tested. TPHD was detected
in water samples, the highest of which was 5,200 micrograms per liter (ug/1). Lead was not
detected in the water samples.
Pagel of 5
MAIN OFFICE • 1707 LITTLE ORCHARD STREET, SUITE A•SAN JosE• CA•95125
MAmiNG ADDRESS a P.O.Box 36303 a SAN JOSE•CA•95158-6303 e
40"79-0661 oFFICE•408/979-0621 FAX•408/640-2899 CELL PHONE•DGU HRIDGE@LIGFTIAMANDSPACE.COM E-MAIL
GENERAL AND ENGINEERING CONTRACTOR•HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCE REMOVAL CONTRACTOR•SITE ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENTS
WETLAND AND RIPARIAN HABITAT-ASSESSMENT-DESIGN-RESTORATION-CONSTikumON-MmGATION MONITORING
