Mr.Scott Rickman Environmental
13 June 2007 Resources
Page 3 Management
L
hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline (TPH-g), diesel (TPH-d), and motor oil
(TPH-mo) by United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA)
L Method 8015M, VOCs by USEPA Method 8260B, and pesticides by
USEPA Method 8081A.
L
ANALYTICAL RESULTS
The laboratory data sheets are presented in Attachment B. A summary
of the results is presented in Table 1. Based on the analytical results, the
L soil samples analyzed from this investigation contained no detectable
concentrations of TPH-g, TPH-d, VOCs, or pesticides above laboratory
Lreporting limits.
An ERM chemist reviewed the analytical results for quality
Lassurance/quality control (QA/QC) purposes. The QA/QC review was
performed in accordance with the USEPA Contract Laboratory Program
National Functional Guidelines for Organic Data Review, October 1999, and
USEPA Contract Laboratory Program National Functional Guidelines for
Inorganic Data Review, July 2002. The data QC/QA review evaluated
holding times, preservation methods, method blank and trip blank
L sample results, laboratory control sample recoveries, and matrix and
surrogate spike recoveries. The review indicated that the data are
Lacceptable for decision-making purposes. A copy of the data QA/QC
review is provided as Attachment B along with the analytical laboratory
report.
With the exception of boring SB-3, which was located in the warehouse,
all soil samples analyzed from 1 foot bgs had a detected concentration of
TPH-mo. Soil samples collected at 1 foot bgs at borings SB-1 and SB-2
installed at the presumed downgradient extent of the site had detections
of TPH-mo at concentrations of 1,000 and 790 milligrams per kilogram
(mg/kg), respectively. The soil sample collected at 1 foot bgs at boring
SB-4 installed in the footprint of the former waste pond had a detection
of TPH-mo at a concentration of 90 mg/kg. Soil samples collected at 1
foot bgs at borings SB-5 and SB-6 installed at the presumed upgradient
extent of the site had detections of TPH-mo at concentrations of 170 and
410 mg/kg, respectively. Boring SB-3 had a detection of TPH-mo from
the sample collected at 20 feet bgs at a concentration of 14 mg/kg.
Detected concentrations in soil samples are presented on Table 1.
L
