Work Pleas -Former Unocal Stntion No. 0187
October 9, 1997
Based on the soil and groundwater data, the most appropriate course of action for this site is to implement
a feasibility study which includes monitoring and sampling the current and proposed groundwater
monitoring wells on a quarterly basis for a minimum period of one year. The quarterly monitoring data
will be used to evaluate natural attenuation and stability of the dissolved hydrocarbon plume. This
approach appears appropriate based on site conditions as indicated by SJCPHS statement in their June
25th, 1997 letter, "... it is unlikely that the site poses an immediate significant human health risk."
TASK 3. QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER MONITORING
MPDS will monitor and sample all groundwater monitoring wells on a quarterly basis. The groundwater
samples will be analyzed for TPHg/BTEX/MTBE. As required, the quarterly reports will be submitted
to SJCPHS within 30 days following the end of each quarter.
PROJECT STAFF
Mr. Stephen J. Carter, a Registered Geologist in the State of California (R.G. No. 5577), will provide
technical oversight and review of the work. Mr. Greg Gurss, Project Manager, will supervise field and
office operations. GSI employs a staff of geologists, engineers, and technicians who will assist with the
project.
SCHEDULE
Implementation of the proposed scope of work will commence upon receipt of regulatory approval and
a signed access agreement from the property owner.
4327.07-1 6
