Elh Cit
EZUEUREM
Margaret Lagorio
' February 17, 2004
Page 4
' MTBE Concentration Trends
' • MTBE was detected in groundwater monitoring well U-26 at 1.7 micrograms per liter (µg/L).
Discussion
Analytical results from piezometer NP-1-65 and NP-2-60 indicate that the ozone microsparge
system appears to be effective as evidenced by the decreasing petroleum hydrocarbon
' concentrations. Increases were observed in petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations in
piezometer NP-1-22, and wells U-3, and U-10. Hydrocarbon concentrations in these wells have
decreased overall since the startup of the baseline test of the C-SpargeT" system. Hydrocarbon
concentrations in piezometer NP-1-111, NP-2-22, and NP-2-116 have remained below
laboratory reporting limits from the Third Quarter to the Fourth Quarter in 2003.
Recommendations
' ENSR recommends that operation of the Ozone Pilot Test system be continued and further
groundwater sampling and D.O. monitoring be performed to evaluate the system's
effectiveness.
Future Work
' ENSR will continue to monitor the treatment system and improve operational status to reduce
system downtime. The first quarter groundwater monitoring and sampling is scheduled for
' February 2004.
Remarks/Signatures
' The interpretations in this report represent our professional opinions and are based, in part, on
the information supplied by the client. These opinions are based on currently available
information and are arrived at in accordance with currently accepted hydrogeologic and
' engineering practices at this time and location. Other than this, no warranty is implied or
intended.
' J:\Projects\069401325-0187\FinallRepoas\4th Qtr 2003-QMR RSR.cloc
' 35 Years of Excellence in Environmental Services
