CONCLUSIONS <br />' This report presents the results and findings of supplemental ntal Site characterization field <br />' work:, file reviews, and analyses conducted by ARCADIS Geraghty and Mller, Inc, on behalf <br /> of UNOCAL, between August, 1998 and March, 1999, regarding the former service station <br />' number 0187, located at 437 E Miner Avenue, Stockton, California Additionally, the <br /> historical record of data and events regarding the Site has been examined, analyzed, and <br />' presented The results of a sitewide monitoring event conducted February 5, 1999 are also <br /> presented and evaluated <br /> Based on the results and discussion presented in the foregoing sections of the report, <br />' ARCADIS Geraghty&Miller, Inc concludes the following <br /> e The primary petroleum hydrocarbon sources, relating to the dispensing of gasoline <br /> products at the Site, have been removed <br /> • The Site release occurred during some previous time when groundwater levels <br />' were lower and groundwater has subsequently risen into the zone of impacted <br /> soils <br />' • General water quality in the vicinity of the Site is poor and does not meet California <br /> State standards(MCLS)for acceptable drinking water <br />' • The Site release has resulted in a shallow dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon <br /> groundwater plume of hmited extent Limited free-phase petroleum hydrocarbons <br />' have been detected on one occasion only Repeat sampling has not detected free <br /> phase hydrocarbons at the Site since November, 1997 <br />' • MTBE has not been detected at the Site Further confirmation sampling for <br /> MTBE should be discontinued L 4 w I c& " 1 t- U <br /> 0 The lateral extent of soil unpacts has been adequately characterized Hydrocarbon <br /> 15 <br /> impacts m the soil appear to be greatest in the area around the former excavation <br /> , G <br />' 47 <br />
