* JU6ETTLER - RYAN <br /> INC. <br /> May 14, 1999 <br /> Mr Robert A Boust <br /> UNOCAL - DBG/AMG <br /> 2121 N California Boulevard, Suite 250 <br /> Walnut Creek, California 94596 <br /> Subject: Soil and Water Disposal, Former Unocal Facility No. 0187, 437 East <br /> Miner Avenue, Stockton, California. <br /> Dear Mr Boust <br /> Gettler-Ryan Inc (GR) has prepared this letter to document the disposal of soil and water <br /> • generated during previous subsurface investigation work at the subject site On March 31, 1999, <br /> GR collected a composite soil sample, labeled Camp-S(DR)l, from eighteen drums of soil (drill <br /> cuttings) at the site All eighteen drums were labeled and slated as 1/11/1999 The composite soil <br /> sample consisted of six individual samples collected in two-inch diameter, clean brass tubes that <br /> were sealed with teflon-lined plastic caps and placed in an ice chest with blue ice for preservation <br /> The soil samples collected during this investigation were submitted under chain-of custody to <br /> Sequoia Analytical Laboratory in Walnut Creek, California (ELAP 91271) <br /> Comp-S(DR)l was analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) by <br /> Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Method 5030/8015 Modified, benzene, toluene, <br /> ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX) by EPA Method 8020, methyl tert-butyl ether (MtBE) by EPA <br /> Method 8020, and total lead Analytical methods and results are summarized in Table 1 Copies <br /> of the laboratory analytical reports and chain-of-custody records are attached <br /> The eighteen drums of soil were profiled for disposal at Forward Incorporated's (Forward) <br /> Manteca, California Landfill, an approved Class II/VI disposal facility Based on the <br /> concentrations of the constituents analyzed in Comp-S(DR)I, Forward issued approval number <br /> 825821 on April 13, 1999, for disposal of the eighteen drums of soil On April 16, 1999, Manley <br /> and Sons Trucking, Inc of Sacramento, California, removed the drums and 6 26 tons of soil from <br /> the site and transported them to Forward A copy of the soil disposal documentation is attached <br /> • 240042 04 <br /> 6747 Sierra Court , Suite J • Dublin , California 94568 • <br /> ( 925 ) 551 - 7555 <br />
