C. 4Zi GETTLER - RYANIN MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION REPORT, VAPOR EXTRACTION PILOT TEST REPORT, AND INTERIM REMEDIAL ACTION PLAN at Former Unocal Service Station No 0187 437 East Miner Avenue Stockton,California Report No 240042 08-1 INTRODUCTION This report presents the results of a subsurface investigation and remediation feasibility study performed by Gettler-Ryan Inc (GR) at the above referenced site The work was performed at the request of Unocal Corporation (Unocal) to further evaluate the extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater on-site and off-site in the downgradient direction northeast to southeast of the subject site, and evaluate vapor extraction as a possible remedial technology to address the residual petroleum hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater beneath the subject site The scope of work performed included obtaining the required well installation permits from San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division (SJCPHS-EHD) and encroachment permit from the City of Stockton, updating the site safety plan, installing twelve groundwater monitoring wells, two vapor extraction wells, and eight sparge wells, collecting soil samples, developing the newly installed monitoring wells, collecting groundwater samples from all monitoring wells, analyzing selected soil and groundwater samples, surveying well head elevations and loctions, conducting a vapor extraction pilot test, and preparing a report documenting the work performed This work was requested by SJCPHS-EHD and the San Joaquin County District Attorney in an August 30, 2000 meeting Work performed proposed dated September 141 an 2000), For (Appendix B Additional Subsurface Assessment And Feasibility Study(report #240042 08 and approved by SJCPHS-EHD in a letter dated September 27, 2000(App ) SITE DESCRIPTION The subject site is a vacant lot situated on the northwest corner of East Miner A en site e and situal ted is Street in the city of Stockton, California, as shown on the Vicinity Map (Figure ) ne an urban area of retail shops and hotels Topography in the site vicinity is flat lying, at an elevation of in the approximately 15 feet above mean sea ter Channel) situated approximately mately one�half mile to the westnity of the site ude McLeod Lake and the Stockton Deep The site was an operating Unocal service station from 1922 until 1992 Most recently the station consisted of a three-bay station building, three product dispenser islands (D-1 through D-3), and two gasoline and one waste oil underound on ed and tghre site isocurrerage ntly an unpaved vacant of common Locations of formerexcavation All s to facilities have been remav features are shown on Figure 2 925 551 - 7555 6747 Sierra Court , Suite J Dublin , California 94568 • ( )
