GeoStrateg ies SOIL REMEDIATION FEASIBILITY STUDY WORK PLAN at Former Unocal Station No 0187 437 Fast Miner Avenue Stockton, California Report No 4827 05-1 INTRODUCTION At the request of Unocal Corporation (Unocal), GeoStrategies (GSI) has prepared this work plan for Unocal Station No 0187 at 437 East Miner Avenue in Stockton, California Previous environmental investigations performed by GSI have identified the presence of gasoline hydrocarbons in soil beneath the southeastern corner of the site and in groundwater beneath the eastern portion of the site and off-site to the east and south The purpose of this work is to summarize the results of environmental investigations performed to date and perform a long-term vapor extraction test This work plan was prepared in response to San Joaquin County's letter mailed January 25, 1995, requesting a feasibility study work plan for soil remediation be submitted by April 30, 1996 SITE DESCRIPTION The subject site is a vacant lot situated on the northwest corner of East Miner Avenue and California Street in the City of Stockton, California, as shown on the Vicinity Map (Figure 1) The subject site is situated in an urban area of retail shops and hotels. Topography in the site vicinity is flat-lying, at an elevation of approximately 15 feet above mean sea level (MSL) Surface waters in the vicinity of the site consist of McLeod Lake and the Stockton Deep Water Channel, situated approximately one-half mile to the west The site was an operating Unocal service station from 1922 until 1992.
