1 1 <br /> Unocal Service Station No 0187 <br /> September 21, 1994 <br /> pimephales promelas (fathead minnows) <br /> Analyses were performed by Sequoia Analytical of Sacramento, California, a <br /> California-certified Hazardous Materials Testing Laboratory(ELAP#1624) Atotal <br /> of eight out of 23 soil samples were analyzed for TPH-Gasoline and BTEX one <br /> day after the 14-day holding period had expired In a letter to Unocal dated <br /> August 9, 1994, Sequoia Analytical states " a holding time violation of this <br /> type does not invalidate the data from a scientific or technical perspective " <br /> These samples are noted on Table 1 Chemical analytical data has been <br /> summarized in Tables 1 through 3. Laboratory reports and chain-of-custody <br /> documentation are presented in Appendix E <br /> Soil Chemical Analytical Data <br /> TPH-Gasoline was detected in soil samples from well boring U-3 and exploratory <br /> soil borings U-J through U-M at depths ranging from 25 5 to 45 5 feet bgs <br /> Concentrations ranged from 1 7 to 19,000 ppm Benzene was detected in soil <br /> samples from well borings U-2 and U-3, and from exploratory soil borings U-L and <br /> U-M at depths of 25 5 and 45 5 feet bgs. Concentrations ranged from 0 0079 <br /> to 140 ppm These data indicate that the lateral extent of hydrocarbon impact <br /> in the southeastern portion of the subject site has been delineated to the west <br /> Vertical delineation appears to be complete in exploratory soil borings U-J and <br /> U-K Hydrocarbon impact appears to extend to groundwater depths in well <br /> borings U-2 and U-3, and in exploratory borings U-L. and U-M <br /> Soluble Cd and soluble Pb were not detected in soil sample U1-6 5, collected <br /> from well boring U-1 at approximately 6 5 feet bgs Soluble Cr was detected at <br /> a concentration of 0 056 milligrams per liter (mg/1), below the current CCR Title <br /> 22 STLC for Cr of 5 mg/I Soluble Ni was detected in this sample at a <br /> concentration of 0 13 mg/l, below the current CCR Title 22 STLC for Ni of 20 <br /> mg/I These data are summarized in Table 2 <br /> Report No 4827 703-5 6 <br /> GeoStrategies Inc. <br />
