ADDITIONAL GROUNDWATER ASSESSMENT REPORT UNIVERSITY OF THE PACIFIC 1081 W MENDOCINO AVENUE, STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA Assessor's Parcel Number: 113-140-02 County of San Joaquin Site Code: R0732 INTRODUCTION Environmental Science Associates(ESA)has prepared this report to present findings of our subsurface soil and groundwater assessments at the former University of Pacific(UOP)Physical Plant, 1081 W Mendocino Avenue in Stockton,California, referred to herein as the"site" (Figure 1) Following the removal of an underground storage tank(UST) in April 2000, UOP retained ESA to complete subsequent soil and groundwater assessments to investigate concentrations of methyl tertiary-butyl ether(MTBE)detected during the UST removal Conducted in July 2000 and January 2001,these assessments included drilling and sampling 19 exploratory soil borings and obtaining shallow groundwater and soil samples from selected locations ESA has submitted to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD)the workplans and reports listed below • Site Invests anon Work lan University of the Pacific, 1081 West Mendocino Avenue, June 8, 2000 • Subsu ace Soil and Groundwater Assessment Re ort University of the Pacific, 1081 West Mendocino Avenue, August 25, 2000 • Additional Groundwater Assessment Workplan. U�ttversity of the Pacific, 1081 West Mendocino Avenue, November 28, 2000 The first section of this report provides a site background,discusses the UST removal in April 2000, and summarizes our initial soil and groundwater assessment in July 2000 The following section presents the results of the January 2001 groundwater assessment This is followed by a discussion of the general topographic and hydrogeologic conditions, both locally and regionally Conclusions and recommendations are found at the end of this report followed by a discussion of the field sampling methodologies and presentation of our limitations Documentation of the UST removal is provided as Appendix A, Appendix B contains previous soil boring logs and Appendix _ C contains the laboratory analytical reports Appendix D provides the Checklist of required Data for No Further Action Requests at Underground Tank Sites (Appendix B of the Tri-Regional Board Staff, October 1996) Additional Groundwater Assessment Repon ESA 1 200252 March 26 2001
