According to data available in GeoTracker, there is two
California Department of Public Health (CDPH) regulated Public Supply Wells within "/ mile of
the site; nearest well is 2,205 feet from the Site. Water users in the vicinity of the site rely on
the City of Ripon. Attachments 1 and 2 provide the technical data to support our
recommendation.
Recommendation
Source area monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-4 have historically had free product as diesel fuel
(TPHd). However, after 16 years of monitoring, the groundwater plume is defined and
decreasing in size. Free product has been removed to the extent practical. Analytical data
indicate that Water Quality Objectives (WQOs) have been achieved in down gradient wells
MW-6 and MW-8. Groundwater within the source area will likely remain above WQOs for
decades. The affected shallow groundwater is not used as a source of water supply nor is it
likely to be used as a source of water supply in the foreseeable future. Water users in the
vicinity of the site rely on City of Ripon. Based on facts in the record and hydrologic and
geologic conditions at the site, the limited residual petroleum hydrocarbons that remain in soil
and groundwater pose little risk to human health, safety and the environment. The Fund
recommends that the County review this site for closure.
G
Kir Larson, P.G. Date Robert Trommer, C.H.G.
