The
deadline to submit a work plan addendum, including filing permit applications and fees by
06 June 2007 is not feasible due to the following issues:
- EHD has recommended a shallow ground water monitoring well east of the site in the area
of the AGE-proposed soil boring B-22. This area is in the CALTRANS right of way. Initial
discussions (I visited the District 10 office prior to submitting the work plan) with
CALTRANS indicate a boring encroachment permit will be relatively easy to obtain,
possibly within 1 to 2 days, however; a monitoring well encroachment permit may take 1 to
2 months and may not be approved.
- EHD has recommended a shallow ground water monitoring well northwest of well MW-1,
between AGE-proposed borings B-20 and B-21. This area belongs to MGR LLC and is
currently a large undeveloped vacant lot.Future use is undetermined at this time. H &W
Construction, business operator at adjacent site and a.k.a. MGR LLC was agreeable to
advancing borings, but hesitant to install monitoring wells. We will need to meet with MGR
LLC again and discuss a monitoring well installation.
- AGE proposed wells MW-6, MW-7, MW-8 and MW-9 are located in City of Ripon right
F of way and will require encroachment permits. I have discussed these well locations with
the City of Ripon Engineering department and was given tenative approval, however;
encroachment permits require processing time.
- Additionally, bids from well drilling companies have not been requested due to the
pending and now received EHD comment letter. Once encroachment permitting and access
agreement have been obtained, drill bids will be requested.
Due to the above stated issues c6neeming access and encroachment, we request the due date
for the work plan addendum along with permit applications be extended 30 days from the
5/24/2007
