WORK PLAN FOR PRELIMINARY
SOIL AND GROUND WATER INVESTIGATION
November I995
Shockey Trucking
850 Milgeo Avenue
Ripon, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
In accordance with the: request of Mr. Lee Shockey of Shockey Trucking, Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared this Work Flan for the installation of four probings at
850 Milgeo Avenue, in Ripon, California (the site). The location of the site is depicted in Figure 1.
A plan of the site is included in Figure 2.
The investigation is performed in accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services -
Environmental Health Division and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board guidelines
for the investigation of underground storage (UST) sites.
2.0. BACKGROUND
2.1. SITE LOCATION
The site is located on west side of Milgeo Avenue, at the intersection Wilma Road, adjacent to
Highway 99. Local land use in the immediate vicinity of the site is agricultural and industrial;
residential areas are located south of the site.
2.2. lJNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL
It is ouâ–º-understanding that six USTs were removed from the property in April 1994. The first UST
contained waste oil and the second UST contained diesel fuel. Four additional USTs contained
unleaded- gasoline. Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in soil samples collected from beneath the
diesel fuel UST at the time of removal.
Analytical results indicated that soil removed from the former diesel fuel UST excavation was
contaminated. However. the soil excavated from the each tanks pit was subsequently used to backf i1
the identical tank excavation.
2.3. GROUND WATER DEPTH AND FLOW DIRECTION
As of October 1995, ground water near the site was at a depth of 19 feet below surface grade (bsg).
