(Ground Zero) has prepared this <br /> workplan for additional groundwater monitoring well installation and sampling. This workplan is <br /> submitted in response to the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health <br /> Division(PHS/EHD)directive dated January 2, 2001, <br /> 1.0 PURPOSE <br /> The purpose of the proposed investigation described herein is to determine if an MTBE plume is <br /> present on the site and to document the magnitude and extent of the plume, if present. <br /> 2.0 BACKGROUND INFORMATION <br /> 2.1 Site Description <br /> The site is currently operated as an automotive repair center by Stockton Clutch and Brake, and <br /> is located in a predominantly commercial and residential area, on the northwest corner of Miner <br /> Avenue and Stanislaus Street in Stockton, California(Figure 1). <br /> 2.2 Previous Investigation <br /> On July 29, 1987,two underground storage tanks (UST's), one 750-gallon waste oil and one 1000- <br /> gallon waste oil, were removed from the property by Walker Hydraulics of Pleasant Hill, <br /> California.
