I
Ms. Dot Lofstrom
3.2 Well Development,Surveying and Groundwater Sampling
Thelevation of the casingcollar of the new well will be surveyed to an accuracy of 0.01 feet and
e
Y Y
tied into the casing elevation of existing well MW 1. A minimum of 48 hrs after well completion, an
experienced field technician will measure static depth to water and then develop the well by
pumping and surging until turbidity is minimized. A minimum of three casing volumes will be
purged from the well.
Subsequent to well development, groundwater samples will be collected from the well after pH,
temperature, and electrical conductivity have stabilized and the water level in the well has recharged
to at least 84% of the static level. Water samples will be placed in appropriate containers, labeled
and placed in an ice chest at a temperature of 4 degrees Centigrade for shipment to the laboratory
under chain of custody protocol. Analysis will consist of TPHg, BTT-X, gasoline oxygenate
additives,DCA and EDB.
3.3 Reporting
Following the receipt of analytical results, a technical report describing the methods and results of
well installation and sampling will be submitted to PHS/EHD and RWQCB.
The report will contain recommendations for additional investigation or sampling or may
recommend case closure as appropriate.
3.4 Protocols and Safety
All field activities performed at the site will be conducted in accordance with the Quality
Assurance/Quality Control Plan and Site Specific Health and Safety Plan included as Attachments
A and B, respectively.
Drill cuttings will be placed on and covered with plastic sheeting or will be drummed. Water
generated from well purging and equipment decontamination will be contained in labeled DOT
approved drums. The drums will be stored on site pending laboratory results and the development
of disposal options.
3.5 Permitting and Schedule
A County well construction permit application, a City of Stockton encroachment permit application
and associated fees will be submitted following approval of this workplan. Following receipt of the
permits, fieldwork will be scheduled
vaIIeyvwlreportslwkpinmw2.doc
