Y <br /> ' APPENDIX I <br /> ' WORK PLAN FOR INSTALLATION OF <br /> AIR SPARGING WELL <br /> Chapin Bros., Inc. <br /> 1766 Monte Diablo Avenue <br /> Stockton, California <br /> ' March 1994 <br /> ' SCOPE OF WORK & PROCEDURES <br /> ' This work plan is included as part of the Final Remedial Plan for the Chapin Bros , Inc site, <br /> located at 1766 Monte Diablo Avenue in Stockton, California The scope of work includes <br /> the installation and sampling of one (1) air sparging well The site location is illustrated in <br /> ' Figure 1, a plan of the site is illustrated in Figure 2, the proposed well location is illustrated <br /> on Figure 2 <br /> The following is a list of procedures to be followed for the installation of the sparging well <br /> 1) Prepare a Site Health and'Safety Plan in accordance with the Occupational Safety <br /> ' and Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities - Prepared by <br /> National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, Occupational Safety and <br /> Health Administration, U S. Coast Guard and U S. Environmental Protection <br /> ' Agency, October 1985. <br /> 2) Notify the EHD 48 hours prior to commencement of any work <br /> ' 3 Drill one soil boring a to depth of 40 feet The bonngs will be drilled utilizing a <br /> P <br /> hollow-stem auger drill ng The estimated boring location is depicted on Figure 2 <br /> ' 4) Collect and log soil samples at 5-foot intervals Auger returns and soil sample <br /> duplicates will be logged in accordance with the Unified Soil Classification System <br /> Samples will be obtained using a split-spoon sampler loaded with three pre-cleaned <br /> brass sleeves. <br /> 5) Complete the boring as a 2-inch diameter air sparging well (AS-2) using 5 feet of <br /> screen from 35 feet to 40 feet A hive-foot bentonite plug will be used to create an <br /> air tight seal in the well The well will then be backfilled to the surface with Portland <br /> Cement <br />
