1 <br /> 1 01 November 2002 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 95-0103 <br /> 1 Page 6 of 6 <br /> Based on the results of the 09 September 2002 quarterly monitoring event, AGE concludes the <br /> ifollowing <br /> • The average ground water level was approximately 15 3 feet below the top of the casing, a <br /> 1 ground water decrease of approximately 2 5 feet since the monitoring event in May The map <br /> of ground water contours Indicates a general ground water flow toward the south to <br /> southeast <br /> 1 • The ground water table in monitoring wells MW-2 through MW-4 was approximately one <br /> feet above the top of the screened Interval, these wells may not yield samples fully <br /> 1 representative of shallow ground water conditions <br /> • Benzene was detected in sample MW-4 at 58 µg11, which is above the DHS' Maximum <br /> 1 Contaminant Level of 10 µg11 In drinking water <br /> 1 5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> Based upon the results of the third quarter 2002 AGE recommends <br /> lie • Continued quarterly ground water monitoring at the site The next monitoring event should <br /> be scheduled for December 2002 <br /> 1 • Continued operation and maintenance of the ground water extraction and treatment system <br /> 1 6.0.
