Proposed soil borehole locations arc
shown on Figure 1. All barehala4 will he continuously cored for lithologic Wntifcation.
Samples will be collected every 5 feet for possible laboratory analysis. Samples will be screened
in the rield u zing visual methods and a photoicmizatian detector or Organic vapor alhalyzcr. Four
sampleg per borehole will be submitted to the laboratory for amdyiis. Four of the boreholes will
be advanced 10 feet into groundwater, c:.stituated to be 60 feet Below ground surface at tho site.
Two-Inch diameter PVC caging will lie set in the boreholes~ Grourui-crater levels will be allowed
to stabilize for 24 hours. After 24 hours, water levels will be measured in the four tetttponery
groundwater monitoring; wells, the presence of free pmduck, if any, will be determined, a, grab
sample of groundwater will be collectcd, and the PVC caging removal from the borehole. All
borcholes completed above groundwater will be backfilled with individual cuttings frotn each
borehole. `l'hc four boreholes advitncad into groundwater will be backfilled with c:oncrctc grout
from bottom to top Excess cuttings will be p)Hccd in a bioremediatlon cell currently operating
at the site.
Soil and waver sample&will be analyzed for toud petroleum hydrocarbons as gas, diesel and
motor oil,and for benzene, toluene and total xylenes by EPA Methods 503(llrrnodifi,ed 8015IHO20
(602) and 3550 (351OYmodified 8015,
Site Safety and Wealth Pian
A Site Safety and Health Plan will be developed and implemented during this investigation.
The Site SEikty and Health Plan will be avai fable an site for inspc ction by appropriate regulatory
agencies.
Quality Asset ame Plan
The procedures to be followed in sample collection, identification, and handling at the
Sheldon Stockton site are described in the (duality Assuramce Plan section of Appendix A.
Report
A report will be prepared de=tailing the field techniques used during the Investigation as well
as the result:; of the invesUgatian. Conclusions and recommendations for further work will be
presenatcd.
7WAREiWWrW&"12 JX1N.wp
