Closure Report 35
Golden Grain Manteca Bean Faclh ,299 Moffat Boulevard,Manteca,California July 16,19%
' 7.2 2 Hydrogeology
' The hydrogeology of the site has been addressed through numerous subsurface investigations that
Included soil boring, monitoring well installation, groundwater level monitoring, and aquifer testing
This information has been reported to the various agencies through activity specific reports and
quarterly project reports
7.2.3 Local Groundwater Uses
The local groundwater uses and potential receptors as well as'the designated uses from the Basin
' Plan have been addressed by the following methods
a Completing a nearby (potential receptor)well survey for the site
' ■ Completing a risk analysis, using current site conditions and potential future site uses
The nsk analysis Indicated that concentrations currently remaining at the site pose no
' health risk to a potential receptor, primarily because no on-site groundwater is currently
used
7 2.4 Concentrations Remaining
' The remaining concentrations have been defined by completing a post remediation study to
determine the current site conditions This study included collection of data to determine residual
hydrocarbon concentrations In soil and groundwater following remediation This study Indicates that
' the extent of hydrocarbons in soil is very limited, as illustrated in cross-sections included herein, and
that hydrocarbons remaining in groundwater are contained at low concentrations within the property
' boundaries
' 7.2.5 Cost of Remediation
The issue of cost has been highlighted by the more than $850,000 00 that Golden Grain has spent
' completing the assessment and clean up of the subject site In comparison, the LLNL report
i
indicates the current leaking underground fuel tank (LUFT) cleanup process does not result in a cost
effective site closure and that the average cost of each LUFT case in California is$150,000 00
FLUOR DANIEL GTI
