i
Manteca Bean l=aciW, 229 Moffat Boulevard, Manteca, Caldomia October 22, 1992
Golden Grain Company Page 4
During the period from September 11, 1992 to October 5, 1992, air velocity readings and
groundwater pumping rates were monitored in conjunction with site visas for maintenance and
sample collection These readings have been used together with influent and effluent sample results
to determine that approximately 153 6 pounds of TPH-as-gasoline have been removed from the sod,
via the vapor extraction system, and approximately 2 25 pounds TPH-as-gasoline have been
removed from groundwater via the groundwater extraction system
r,
The groundwater and soil treatment system operated continuously from start-up except for three
isolated cases The heater on the lead extractor burned the insulation of two of the wires to the
heating element and shut the system down twice for two days, and the air stripper high pressure
shut off triggered the air stripper to shut down once due to calcium carbonate build up The heater
connections were fixed during a regularly scheduled site visa, the air stepper was cleaned with an
acid wash to enable it to operate at peak efficiency The sod vapor extraction system continued to
operate when the air stripper was not operational, however no water was being pumped or treated
during that period An operational log book is being kept on site to track the progress of the site
hY, remediation, and equipment operation
Please contact Groundwater Technology's Concord office if you have any questions or comments
regarding this report
Sincerely,
Groundwater Technology, Inc.
