RECEIVED <br /> J u N 16 1992 <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL HLALTI" <br /> GROUNDWATER PERMIT/SERVICES <br /> +_j TECHNOLOGY, INC. 1401HalNardI)nve Suite140 West Sacramento CA956911916)372-4700 <br /> FAX(916)372-8781 <br /> April 28, 1992 Project Number 02320 1466 <br /> Mr Mike Rabith <br /> Project Engineer <br /> Golden Gram Company <br /> 1111 - 139th Avenue <br /> San Leandro, CA 94578 <br /> RE FIRST QUARTER 1992 MONITORING RESULTS <br /> MANTECA BEAN FACILITY <br /> 229 MOFFAT BOULEVARD <br /> MANTECA, CALIFORNIA <br /> Dear Mr Rabith <br /> This letter is presented by Groundwater Technology, Inc as a quarterly report on groundwater <br /> conditions at the Manteca Bean Facility in Manteca, California IFigures 1 and 2) for the quarter ending <br /> March 1992 Groundwater monitoring and sampling was conducted in accordance with our February <br /> 13, 1992 proposal to Golden Gram Company, a division of the Quaker Oats Company The purpose <br /> of the field work was to determine water table flow and the distribution of dissolved hydrocarbons in <br /> selected groundwater monitoring wells (MWs) Groundwater monitoring data and results of laboratory <br /> analyses of groundwater samples collected on February 21 and 22, 1992 are included All work was <br /> performed as described in a monitoring and sampling plan submitted to, and approved by San Joaquin <br /> County Public Health Services on February 27, 1992 <br /> Monitoring Well Gauging <br /> Prior to well purging and water sample collection on February 21 and 22, 1992, Groundwater <br /> Technology personnel gauged the 15 sate-related monitoring wells to determine the depth to water and <br /> the depth to separate-phase petroleum (SP), if present The well gauging was conducted in <br /> accordance with the Leaking Underaround Fuel Tank Field Manual (LUFT) published by the State of <br /> California Leaking Underground Fuel Tank Task Force dated October 1989 Groundwater monitoring <br /> data are summarized in Table 1 The water table elevations for February 21, 1992 were used to <br /> prepare a potentiometric surface map (Figure 3) <br /> Monitoring Well Sampling <br /> Following well gauging, groundwater samples were collected from eight monitoring wells in accordance <br /> with the LUFT guidelines The samples were submitted under a chain-of-custody manifest to Sequoia <br /> Analytical Laboratories in Sacramento, California Each sample was analyzed for benzene, toluene, <br /> ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX), and total petroleum hydrocarbons-as-gasoline (TPH-G) by <br /> Offices throughout the is S Canada and Oivrseas <br />
