❑❑ ouN R DWATER G ❑D❑ TECHNOLOGY, INC. 1401 Halyard Drive,Suite 140,West Sacramento,CA 95691,(91b)3724700 FAX(916)372-8781 February 13, 1992 Project No 02320 1466 Ms Linda Turkette San Joaquin County Public Health Services ' 4 k sw Environmental Health Services s P 0 Box 2009 Stockton, CA 95201 F E B 1 8 1992 RE MANTECA BEAN FACILITY 229 MOFFAT BOULEVARD PER11131 I / `'LA+ l�� ,, MANTECA, CALIFORNIA Dear Ms Turkette Groundwater Technology, Inc ,on behalf of Golden Grain Company,the owner of the above referenced facility and a division of the Quaker Oats Company, presents this letter to propose a program (work plan) for quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling at this site Remediation of impacted soil and groundwater from a prior leaking underground gasoline storage tank will commence at this site in the near future, and this program will be used to measure the effectiveness of the remediation program Additionally, this program will satisfy requirements of your office The results of the most recent monitoring and sampling at this site were presented in a letter report dated August 21, 1991 The program for monitoring and sampling includes collection of groundwater samples from selected wells at the site for analysis, selection of laboratory analytical methods to be employed for water sample analyses, and a schedule for field work and reporting MONITORING AND SAMPLING All monitoring wells will continue to-be gauged-quarterly for depth to water relative to a para on well casings surveyed to a previously established datum ( Monitoring wells (MW) selected for sampling include MW-2, MW-7,-and MW-8througti MW-14 these wells will be sampled quarterly to document the extent and magnitude of dissolved gasoline hydrocarbons in groundwater beneath the site The location of these wells is shown on Figure 1, (Attachment A) Wells MW-1, MW-3, and MW-4 have been omitted from this program as these wells do not currently penetrate the water bearing zone Monitoring wells MW-5, and MW-6 have been omitted because these wells are in close proximity to selected wells, and sampling of these pants would provide redundant data In order to target the center of the dissolved hydrocarbon plume,-MW-2'RIw -- e-sampled=which-has screening-tnt the--sha#iow=depth:of-the watCr table MW-7_is selected as it is screened in the-second water-boring-Tdne_andtl 1-provide-data about-the vertical-extent of dissolved--hydrocarbons in-the rcemecof4lie-dissolved__wptuin The remainder of the selected wells, MW-8 through MW-14, will then be used to demonstrate definition of the extent of dissolved hydrocarbons in groundwater These wells will be sampled to check for migration of the dissolved concentrations from the area in which MW-2 and MW-7 are located Liquid level measurements will be collected using a electrical/optical probe Offices throughout the U S,Canada and Overseas
