Third Quarter 1994 Status Report 6
. Golden Gram Company Manteca Bean Facility, 229 Moffat Blvd Manteca, CA September 26, 1994
Indicate the expected vacuum effect on the surrounding area The Vapor Extraction Pilot Study
performed In 1990 determined a radius of Influence ranging from 55 feet to 90 feet depending on the
air flow rate being drawn from the test extraction well The readings collected on August 18, 1994,
showed Influence 70 feet away from well MW-2 at a flow rate of approximately 100 actual cubic feet
per minute (acfm) This corresponds with the expected radius of Influence determined from the pilot
study
Before collecting solvent gas vapor concentration data, the vacuum applied to the vapor extraction
wells was turned off for a period of 5 days This allowed the soil to reach static conditions before
the collection of the vapor samples from the vapor extraction wells and MW-1, MW-4, MW-5, and
MW-6 On August 24, 1994, vapor samples were collected from these wells and subsequently
analyzed for TPH-g and BTEX (table 8)
CONTINUED OPERATION
Site work for the next quarter will Include dally system check via modem, weekly site visits for
equipment operation and maintenance, weekly monitoring of system operating conditions and vapor
• influent and effluent concentrations, quarterly monitoring and sampling of site wells, and quarterly
sampling of treatment system Influent and effluent groundwater streams Also, quarterly vapor
extraction monitoring and Induced vacuum readings will be measured The treatment system Is
expected to operate under normal conditions during the next quarter
0102R014 202
GROUNDWATER
TECHNOLOGY,INC
