These materials had been stored on site in Department
of Transportation (DOT)-approved 55-gallon steel drums, and were
transferred into the product lank after it was installed.
To recover SPP from the monitoring wells, bailing was
initiated on June 12, 1989 to remove floating product from MW-1,
MW-2, MW-4, and MW-5. The petroleum was placed into the product
tank. On August 15,1989, the contents of the tank were removed
by Ramos Oil.
r Groundwater elevations in the eight wells installed by SCS
were measured by GTI on March 21, June 12-16, June 19-22, and
June 30, 1985. The measurements in June were accomplished
simultaneously with the SPP removal program.
3.2 SOIL-VAPOR SURVEY
On August 30, 31, and September 1, 1989, GTI conducted a
soil--vapor survey (SVS) to define the subsurface soil vapor
profile and determine locations for additional monitoring wells.
Soil vapor samples were collected by driving a slotted sampler
_. into the subsurface. A vacuum pump was used to sample air within
- - the soil-interstices.---The--samples-were_-analyzed__onsiten_a
mobile laboratory equipped with a gas chromatograph. Details of
the equipment and methods used are outlined in Appendix Il.
GROUNDWATER
TECHNOLOGY.INC.
