3 2 4 Wellhead Surve Groundwater Monitonn Sam lm and Ana! sis
A licensed land surveyor will survey each of the newly-installed wellheads The surveyor will
measure the elevation of the tops of well casings to the nearest 0 01 foot, referenced to a
benchmark The locations of the wells and other site features will also be surveyed, using GPS
coordinates for input into the Geotracker system
After the new monitoringwell seals have a e set for approximately 72 hours and on a quarterly basis
thereafter, the new wells and the existing wells will be monitored and sampled Depth-to-
groundwater and free product thickness (if necessary) will be monitored using a water level
indicator capable of measurements to within 0 01 foot Fallowing groundwater level
measurements, the wells will be purged and sampled
The wells will be purged with decontaminated PVC bailers or pumps until at least three well
casing volumes have been removed and/or after groundwater temperature, pH and electrical
conductivity values have stabilized Groundwater will be sampled from the wells using disposable
polyethylene hailers and laboratory-supplied containers Each sample container will be labeled,
packaged in an iced cooler and transported for analysis with chain-of-custody documentation to a
state of California certified hazardous waste testing laboratory The lab will analyze each
groundwater sample for TPH-as-diesel, TPH-as-gasoline, and BTEX by EPA Method
802018015M, and for MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, TAME, TBA and 1,2-DCA by EPA Method 8260B
3 2 5 Waste Storage and Disposal
All waste soil generated during drilling will be contained in 55-gallon drums and temporarily stored
at the site, pending analytical results and proper disposition Equipment rinsate and purged
groundwater will be contained in separate 55-gallon drums for temporary on-site storage, pending
accumulation and proper disposition
3.3 Report Preparation and Distribution
The methods and finding of the proposed work will be presented in an Environmental Site
Investigation Report Results of quarterly groundwater monitoring, sampling and analysis will be
documented in quarterly groundwater monitoring reports All reports will be prepared and
stamped by a state of California Registered Geologist, and submitted to EHD and RWQCB
. 12
