According to the City of Manteca Department of Public Works, the city provides water service <br /> ' throughout the site vicinity The city operates 15 water supply wells throughout the city, including <br /> two within the site vicinity The city well #19 is located near the corner of Powers Avenue and <br /> Marin Street, approximately 1,700 feet west of the site, and the city well #5 and water tower are <br /> located approximately 1,900 feet northwest of the site <br /> The nearest school to the site is Manteca High School approximately 500 feet to the north The <br /> school campus occupies most of the northeast quadrant of the site vicinity According to Mr <br /> Chuck Christian, the head custodian, the school supplies all of its own water from a single water <br /> well located near the northeast corner of the Agriculture Building, approximately 1,000 feet <br /> northeast of the site This well was located during the survey and was found to be operational <br /> ' Well construction details were not available <br /> The South San Joaquin Irrigation District(SSJID) also operates a network of groundwater wells <br /> within the city of Manteca for large volume irrigation supply According to SSJID records, none of <br /> their wells are located within the site vicinity, however, three of their wells do exist within one mile <br /> ' of the site <br /> Other sensitive receptors identified in the site vicinity include the Lincoln Elementary School at <br /> 750 East Yosemite Avenue and the Lincoln Park and community swimming pool Lincoln School <br /> is approximately 2,000-feet northeast of the site and Lincoln Park is approximately 1,000-feet <br /> northeast of the site No hospitals, significant surface water bodies or other sensitive receptors <br /> were observed in the site vicinity <br /> 1.__2 5 Additional Soil and Groundwater Investigation <br /> On January 24, 2003, Ramage Environmental published Additional Site Investigation and <br /> Groundwater Monitoring Report, Fourth Quarter 2003, which documented soil and groundwater <br /> sampling and analysis from seven additional Geoprobe soil borings The borings included one <br /> into the second groundwater-bearing zone near the former USTs (G-6), and six (G-7 through G- <br /> 12) into the first groundwater zone on- and off-site (Figure 2) <br /> Results of the investigation indicated that the vertical <br /> 9 and lateral extent of impacted groundwater <br /> remained undefined The soil sample analytical results are summarized in Table 1, and the <br /> groundwater analytical results are included in Table 2 <br /> On March 21, 2003, based on the results of this investigation, EHD requested this work plan <br /> 1 <br /> i <br /> 1 <br />
