2.0 SENSITIVE RECEPTOR SURVEY <br /> 1 <br /> To evaluate possible health and safety impacts from petroleum hydrocarbons in soil and <br /> ' groundwater beneath the site, Ramage Environmental surveyed potential sensitive receptors <br /> within 2,000-feet of the site (site vicinity) The survey included a review of water well completion <br /> reports at the California Department of Water Resources (DWR), contact with the City of Manteca <br /> Department of Public Works and South San Joaquin Irrigation District(SSJID), and a tour of the <br /> site vicinity <br /> For the site vicinity, no water well completion reports were found at DWR However, further <br /> research identified three operating water supply wells within the site vicinity Two of these wells <br /> are operated by the city of Manteca for drinking water supply, and the other is operated by <br /> Manteca High School for all campus uses Appendix A includes a base map showing the <br /> locations of the three identified wells, and a table summarizing any well construction data No well <br /> completion reports were available for the identified wells <br /> ' According to the City of Manteca Department of Public Works, the city provides water service <br /> throughout the site vicinity The city operates 15 water supply wells throughout the city, including <br /> two within the site vicinity The city well#19 is located near the corner of Powers Avenue and <br /> Marin Street, approximately 1,700 feet west of the site, and the city well#5 and water tower are <br /> located approximately 1,900 feet northwest of the site The total depth of both of these wells <br /> exceeds 300 feet The city of Manteca water well locations are shown on a map, also included in <br /> Appendix A <br /> 1 <br /> The nearest school to the site is Manteca High School approximately 500 feet to the north The <br /> school campus occupies most of the northeast quadrant of the site vicinity According to Mr <br /> Chuck Christian, the head custodian, the school supplies all of its own water from a single water <br /> well located near the northeast corner of the Agriculture Building, approximately 1,000 feet <br /> ' northeast of the site This well was located during the survey and was found to be operational <br /> Well construction details were not available The well location is also shown on the base map <br /> included in Appendix A <br /> The SSJID also operates a network of groundwater wells within the city of Manteca for large <br /> volume irrigation supply According to SSJID records, none of their wells are located within the <br /> site vicinity, however, three of their wells do exist within one mile of the site <br /> 1 <br /> 6 <br />
