1 <br /> r� <br /> ` 4.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> Soil and groundwater beneath the site is impacted by diesel and gasoline hydrocarbons The bulk <br /> ' of the hydrocarbon mass consists of diesel and is concentrated in subsurface soil between 15 and <br /> 25 feet bgs Vertically, the extent of impacted soil is defined between 35 and 43 feet bgs <br /> Laterally, the extent of impacted soil is undefined The lateral extent of impacted groundwater is <br /> also undefined <br /> ' Based on the results of this investigation, Ramage Environmental recommends the following <br /> course of corrective action <br /> ' 1 Install three on-site groundwater monitoring wells at the site to evaluate groundwater flow and <br /> gradient characteristics and to establish a groundwater monitoring capability at the site <br /> Proposed monitoring well locations are shown on F=igure 5 These three wells should be <br /> monitored and sampled on a quarterly basis for a period of at least one year <br /> 2 Conduct a survey of water wells within a 2,000-foot radius of the site The survey should <br /> include a review of well completion reports at the California Department of Water Resources <br /> office in Sacramento, a call to local water purveyors, and a walk of the site vicinity to confirm <br /> well locations and operating status <br /> 1 <br /> �' 11 <br /> 1 <br />
