' 2.0 SCOPE OF WORK
• Based on the results of soil sampling beneath the former USTs, the soil beneath the site is
known to be impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons At this time, the lateral and vertical extent of
Impacted soil is not defined Since groundwater Is present at a depth of approximately 5 feet
' below the bottom of the former USTs, it Is likely that groundwater has also been impacted by
petroleum hydrocarbons As such, the objectives of this environmental site investigation are as
' follows
1 Define the extent of impacted soil,
' 2 Evaluate the nature and extent of impacted groundwater,
3 Monitor groundwater quality beneath the site to evaluate plume concentration and
' stability and natural biodegradation rates
To achieve the project objectives, a scope of work consisting of the following five tasks is
' proposed
1 Planning and Permitting
2 GeoprobeTM Soil and Groundwater Grab Sampling
3 Groundwater Monitoring Well Installation
4 Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring
5 Project Reporting
' A discussion of these tasks and component subtasks follows
21 Planning and Permitting
The planning and permitting task consists of a preliminary site inspection, the preparation of a
health and safety plan and the acquisition of the required permits
2 1 1 Preliminary Site Inspection
A preliminary site inspection will be performed to gather the information necessary to carry out
' the fieldwork and prepare the site background section of the Site Investigation Report The
execution of this task will include the following
' Work Plan,Environmental Site Investigation Ramage Environmental
392 South Moffat Blvd Manteca California June 18, 1997
3
1
