1 <br /> 1 0 INTRODUCTION <br /> On behalf of the San Joaquin County Facilities Management Department (property owner), <br /> ' Ramage Environmental has prepared this Groundwater Monitonng Report, Second Quarter 2005 <br /> for submittal to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division (EHD) and the Central <br /> ' Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) <br /> 1 1 Site Location and Description <br /> r <br /> The site is located at 392 South Moffat Boulevard in the city of Manteca (San Joaquin County), <br /> California (Figure 1) Structures on the property include the former agricultural commissioner's <br /> office, a chemical storage and restroom facility, and a covered vehicle parking area (Figure 2) <br /> The Manteca Police Department currently uses the property The southern part of the site is <br /> secured with a barbed-wire fence The site is approximately %-acre in size It is flat and mostly <br /> paved Recycling centers are located on the east and west sides of the site South of the site is a <br /> city bike path easement and a Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way <br /> Three, 1,000-gallon capacity, underground fuel storage tanks (UST) existed on the east side of <br /> the site (Figure 2) The northern and southern former USTs were used to store weed oil (i e , <br /> diesel fuel) The center UST was used to store unleaded gasoline <br /> r1.2 Previous Work <br /> ' 1 2 1 UST System Removal <br /> ' On November 1, 1988, Tilford & Hall removed the three, 1,000-gallon capacity, USTs and <br /> associated product piping and dispenser island equipment During UST removal, the EHD <br /> inspector noted the presence of corrosion and holes in all three tanks and "prevalent odor" during <br /> ' excavation of the northern weed oil tank <br /> One soil sample was collected for laboratory analysis from beneath each UST at a depth of 10 to <br /> 10 5 feet below ground surface (bgs) Analytical results indicated that petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> were detected in the soil samples collected from beneath the northern and central USTs <br /> Petroleum hydrocarbons were not detected in the soil sample collected from beneath the southern <br /> weed oil UST <br /> 4 <br /> I <br /> 1 <br />
