Quarterly Report -.Second-Quarter 2001
BOB'S MUFFLER SHOP
' 466 Moffat Boulevard, Manteca,California
' 1.0, INTRODUCTION
' In accordance with the request of Mr. Tom Barbour of Bob's Muffler Shop, Advanced
GcoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared this quarterly report for the.property located at 466..
Moffat Boulevard,,Manteca, California. The scope of work included quarterly ground water
' monitoring and preparation of this report. The location of the site and the immediately surrounding
area are illustrated on Figure 1; structures, former UST locations and monitoring well locations are
illustrated on Figure 2.Background.information is summarized in the Preliminary Sitd Assessment
Work Plan dated 30 November 1998 and Prelim inarylnvestigation and Evaluation Report dated 10 ,
August-1999, both prepared by AGE.
2.0. PROCEDURES
' Quarterly ground water monitoring was performed on monitoring•wells MW-1 through MW-5 on
11 June 2001. The work was performed in accordance with PHS-EHD and California Regional
Water Quality Control Board - Central Valley Region guidelines for sampling ground water
monitoring wells and investigating underground storage tank(UST) sites.
' 2.1. . MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES
On 11 June 2001, a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in the
five.wells relative to the tops of the well casings. Ground water elevations; flow direction and
gradient were determined from this data(Table 1).
1 After recording water level measurements, disposable bailers were used to purge the monitoring well
of standing water. Approximately 8 gallons of water were removed from each well (approximately
3 well casing water volumes). Ground water temperature, pH and conductivity were measured at
' 2-gallon intervals during the purge process using an ICM water analyzer. Field data, sheets are
- included in Appendix A. Purged water was stored on site in labeled, 55-gallon DOT-approved
' drums.
2.2. COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
Water samples were collected from each purged well with disposable bailers. Each water sample was
' transferred into laboratory-supplied 40-m1 VOA vials-containing 0.5 ml 18%hydrochloric acid as
Ma sample preservative. After collection, the samples were properly labeled, placed in a chilled '
' Advanced GeoEnviro •
nmental,Inc. •
