INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr. Tom Barbour, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared this <br /> Additional Site Assessment Report - January 2004 for the property at 466 Moffat Boulevard, <br /> Manteca, California (the site). This site assessment was initiated at the request-of the San Joaquin <br /> County Environmental Health Department (EHD) to define the off-site lateral extent of the <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons-impacted soil and ground water plumes from the former Bob's Muffler <br /> Shop site. The location of the site and its surroundings are illustrated in Figure 1;major features on <br /> the site and boring locations are'illustrated in Figure 2. Site background information is provided in <br /> Appendix A. <br /> 2.0. SCOPE OF WORK <br /> ' The scope of work included the advancement of two soil borings,collection of soil and grab ground <br /> water samples and abandonment of the two soil borings. Field work was performed in accordance <br /> with guidelines issued by the Central Valloy Regional Water Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB) <br /> ,• for the investigation of underground"storage tanks (UST) sites. <br /> ' 3.0. PROCEDURES <br /> On 05 January 2004, two geoprobe soil borings (B5 and B6) were advanced at the site. The field <br /> ' work was conducted as outlined in the AGE-prepared Additional Site Assessment Work Plan - <br /> February 2003, dated I 1 February 2003 which was approved.with conditions by the EHD in a letter <br /> dated 21 March 2003. <br /> 1 i . <br /> 3.1. SOIL BORING ADVANCEMENT <br /> Soil borings B5 and B6 were advanced utilizing-a van-mounted Geoprobe 5400 equipped with <br /> ' 1.125-inch diameter probe rods with an attached 2.15-inch diameter soil sampler,using"direct push" <br /> technology.Each soil boring was advanced vertically to a depth of 47 feet below surface grade(bsg)'. <br /> 3.1.1. Soil Sampling <br /> ' Discrete soil samples were collected at 5-foot intervals,beginning at 5 feet bsg,to the total depth of <br /> each boring;soil samples were collected using a Geoprobe soil sampling assembly loaded with four <br /> • pre-cleaned 1.125-inch by 6-inch brass sleeves. <br /> ' Advanced GeoEovironmental,Inc. <br />
