. Quarterly Report Fourth Quarter 2003 BOB'S MUFFLER SHOP 466 Moffat Boulevard, Manteca, California ' 1.0. INTRODUCTION At the request of Mr. Tom Barbour of Bob's Muffler Shop,.Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE)has prepared this quarterly report for the property located at 466 Moffat Boulevard,Manteca, California. The scope of work included a'quarterly groundwater monitoring event and preparation of this report. The location of the site,and the immediately surrounding area are illustrated on ' ' Figure 1. Structures,former UST locations and monitoring well locations are illustrated on Figure 2. Site background information is provided iri Appendix A. 2.4. PROCEDURES Monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-10-were monitored and sampled on I 1 December 2003. All fieldwork was performed in accordance with guidelines issued by the Central Valley Regional Water ' Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB)for the investigation of underground storage tank(UST)sites. 2.1. WELL MONITORING AND PURGING On 11 December 2003, a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water ' in eight wells relative to the tops of the well casings.After the depth-to-ground water measurements were collected,casing water in the wells were evacuated using dedicated,disposable plastic bailers. ' Approximately 5.5 to 5.75 gallons of water were evacuated from wells MW-1 through MW-5 and MW-7 through MW-10;approximately 12.75 gallons of water were removed from well MW-6. All ,purged amounts were equivalent to a minimum of three casing-water volumes per well. ' Temperature, pH and conductivity were measured at regular intervals during purging using an. Oakton water analyzer to monitor pH, temperature and,conductivity"of the purged water. Purged ' water was temporarily stored on-site in properly labeled DOT-approved 55-gallon drums.The field data logs are provided in Appendix B. ' 2.2. COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES A water,sample was collected from each purged well with a dedicated, disposable bailer after ' allowing the wells to achieve a minimum 80%recovery of the pre-purge water volume.Each water sample was transferred into laboratory-supplied 40-m1 volatile organic analysis (VOA) vials ' containing 0.5 ml 18%.hydrochloric acid as a sample preservative.
