ND ' MW-6 0 8 0.9 .7 ND ND ND MW-7 ND ND ND ND ND MTBE contamination is present this quarter in elevated levels and has been present in the groundwater underlying this site since November, 1997. During the construction of monitoring wells 1-4 (NM-1 - MW-4) in 1995, soil samples were collected but MTBE analysis was not required. In October, 1997 MW-5, MW-6 and MW-7 were constructed and soil samples were collected. These soil samples were analyzed for the presence of MTBE. The results were ND. MTBE testing in groundwater samples began in June, 1996 and the results from the groundwater sampling events were ND (none detected) until November, 1997. The concentrations of MTBE in the groundwater have been increasing over the past 2 years and has spread to at least six of the seven wells (MW-2 was not sampled) located on the subject property (Table B and Figure 4).
