' Eckert Coldt
S Drage Company
757 Moffat Blvd.,Manteca, California March 14, 2002
Quarterly Groundwater Sampling Report,December, 2001 page; 2
! ' Summary of Analytical Findings
This quarter contaminants were detected in all wells except for the Domestic Well (Table
2 and Appendix A). MW-2 was not sampled during this event. A summary of the
analytical data for this quarter's monitoring wells is shown below:
9/10101 TPH- TPH- B T E X MTBE ETH BTA DIPE ETBE TAME EDB 1,2-
Gas Diesel DCA
Well /L m /L u u u u u u u u u u L u L u L
m
MW-1 5.5 ND 270 ND 115 42 ND ND ND ND ND ND ND ND
' MW-3 1.6 ND 45 4.9 94 .64 ND ND ND ND ND ND ND ND
MW-4 ND ND ND ND L6 3.2 9.7_ ND ND ND ND ND ND 12
MW-5 ND ND 0.4 ND 0:9 1.7 . 1.6 ND ND ND ND ND ND ND
MW-6 ND ND ND ND ND ND ND ND ND ND ND ND ND ND
' MW-7 ND ND ND ND ND ND ND ND ND ND ND ND ND ND
MW-8 3.4 ND 572 ND 8$8 38ND ND ND ND ND ND ND ND
ND—None Detected at or above the reporting limit DIPS—Di-Isopropyl Ether
' BTEX--Benzene,Toluene,Ethyl Benzene,Xylenes ETBE—Ethyl Tert-Butyl Ether
MTBE—Methyl Tert-Butyl Ether TAME—Tert-Amyl Methyl Ether
ETH--Ethanol EDB—Ethylene Dibromide
BTA—Tert-Butanol 1,2-DCA— 1,2-Dichloroethane
' MTBE contamination is present this quarter. in MW-4 and MW-5 at levels below the
maximum allowable (35 ug/L) set by the State of California. The level of MTBE in
MW-4 and MW-5 has increased since last quarter and decreased in MW-3 to "ND". The
' fact that MTBE is found on-site is curious because MTBE was not present in the fuels
on-site. MW-4 also contains 12 ug/L of 1,2-DCA. 1,2-DCA has decreased in MW-3
since last quarter to "ND".
' MW-1 has shown a decrease in benzene this quarter from 1,100 to 270 ug/L. All other
analytes have decreased since last quarter, except Diesel which is not present in MW-1..
' The concentration of Xylenes and Toluene have increased in MW-3 since last quarter
while all other contaminants have decreased. The concentrations of the chemicals
present in MW-4 have decreased since last quarter except for MTBE and 1,2-DCA which
' increased from 2.4 to 9.7 ug/L and from "ND" to 12 ug/L, respectively. MW-5 has
shown a decrease in all contaminants since the last monitoring event in September, 2001.
The concentration of 1,2-DCA: decreased to ND in MW-5. MW-6 and MW-7 have
-' shown a decrease in all chemical present to "ND" since last quarter. MW-8 has shown
significant decreases since last quarter's monitoring event.
' Based on past and present analytical data, Benzene is the constituent that poses the
greatest threat to human health and the environment but it is not found in the nearest
receptor, which is only 250 feet to the northwest.
1
