' Eckert Cold Storage Company
757 Moffat Blvd, Manteca, California April 10, 2001
' Quarterly Groundwater Sampling Report, March, 2001 Page: 2
Summary of Analytical Findings
This quarter contaminants were detected in all wells except for the Domestic Well (Table
t 2 and Appendix A). MW-2 was not sampled during this event. A summary of the
analytical data for this quarter's monitoring wells is shown below:
3/5/2001 TPH- TPH- B T E X MTBE ETH BTA DIPE ETBE TAME EDB 1,2-
Gas Diesel DCA
' Well u u u _2fZL u m m ug& u ugAL u u u u
MW-1 ND 29 ' ND ..........
...;..: ND ND ND ND ND ND ND ND
ND Z9:= Y:4. .. :.:. The fact that MTBE is
found on-site is curious because MTBE was not present in the fuels on-site.
' MW-1 has shown a decrease in benzene this quarter from 360 to 290 ug/L. All other
analytes have remained at levels consistent with last quarter. The concentration of all
' analytes in MW-3 have also decreased, along with benzene which fell from 62 to 29
ug/L. The concentrations of the chemicals present in MW-4 have remained at nearly the
same level as last quarter except for ethyl benzene which increased from 5.8 to 43 ug/L.
' MW-5 has shown a slight increase in MTBE and 1,2-DCA, while all other chemicals
have remained consistent with last quarters concentrations. MW-6 has shown a decrease
in all analytes since last quarter to ND. MW-7 has shown a decrease in all analytes to the
' level of ND. MW-8 has shown a significant decrease since last quarter's monitoring
event, especially for benzene which has decreased from 310 to 75 ug/L.
' Based on past and present analytical data, Benzene is the constituent that poses the
greatest threat to human health and the environment but it is not found in the nearest
receptor, which is only 250 feet to the northwest.
