Eckert Cold Storage Company
' 757 Moffat Blvd, Manteca, California January 15, 2001
Quarterly Groundwater Sampling Report; December, 2000 Page. 2
' Summary of Analytical Findings
' This quarter contaminants were detected in all wells except for the Domestic Well (Table
2 and Appendix A). MW-2 was not sampled during this event. A summary of the
analytical data for this quarter's monitoring wells is shown below:
22129100 TPH- TPH- B T E X MTBE ETH BTA DIPE ETBE TAME EDB 1,2-
Gas Diesel DCA
Well ur& u u u u&I m m E& u u u u uE& u u
MW-1 -; .1 fl 2T-' ND 96 ND ND ND ND ND ND ND ND ND
MW-3 2.3 63 < G 7 9 ND ND Nm ND ND ND ND M
MW-4 ¢ .. The fact that MTBE is
' found on-site is curious because MTBE was not present in the fuels on-site.
MW-1 has shown a significant decrease in all analytes this quarter except for a slight
increase in gasoline. The concentration of analytes in MW-3 have also decreased, except
for a slight increase in diesel. MW-4 has shown a decrease in analytes, but has shown 14
ug/L for 1,2 DCA, which was not tested for in the last quarter's monitoring event in any
' of the wells. MW-5 has shown a decrease in analytes, but has also shown 3.2 ug/L for
1,2 DCA. MW-6 has shown a slight increase in benzene, but generally, a decrease in the
other analytes. MW-7 has shown a slight increase in TPH-gas, benzene, toluene, ethyl
' benzene and xylenes, where last quarter's event showed ND for all analytes. MW-8 has
shown a significant decrease since last quarter's monitoring event.
' Based on past and present analytical data, Benzene is the constituent that poses the
greatest threat to human health and the environment but it is not found in the receptor,
which is only 250 feet to the northwest.
' The analysis of the water from the on-site domestic well did not reveal the presence of
contamination. All of the constituents tested using EPA method 524.2 were not detected
' at or above the reporting limits. The domestic well is a receptor in close proximity to the
