i
Eckert Cold Storage Company
757Moffat Blvd, Manteca, California October 31, 2004
Quarterly Groundwater Sampling Report; September, 2000 Page. 2
Summary of Analyficat Findings
' This quarter contaminants were detected in all wells except for MW-7, and the Domestic
Well (See Table A). MW-2 was not sampled during this event.
Table A:Tabular Summary of Groundwater Analytical Data
' 9/8100 Benzene Toluene E-Benzene Xylene MTBE Diesel Gasoline
Well _ugfL u u u u m m
MW-1 ' 1#i0 ..... 15311 S7(l ........ The fact that MTBE is found on-site is curious because MTBE was not
' present in the fuels on-site.
MW-1 has shown a decrease in all analytes this quarter except for MTBE. BTEX and
' MTBE have increased in MVV-3 while gasoline and diesel have decreased. The
concentrations of all analytes have increased in MW-4 since the last sampling event.
' MW-5 has shown an increase in all analytes except for MTBE. The concentrations of all
the analytes have increased since last quarter in MW-6. All analytes in the water
collected from MW-7 has decreased this quarter. The concentration of all the analytes in
' MW-8 have increased since last quarter. Based on past and present analytical data,
Benzene is the constituent that poses the greatest threat to.human health and the
environment but it is not found in the receptor only 250 feet to the northwest.
' The analysis of the water from the on-site domestic well did not reveal the presence of
contamination. All of the constituents tested using EPA method 524.2 were not detected
' at or above the reporting limits. The domestic well is a receptor in close proximity to the
contaminated area (250' to the northwest) and does not show the presence of any
petroleum related chemical. The contamination has had approximately 14 years to
' migrate to the receptor but the analytical data indicates that this receptor is not adversely
affected.
r
