First quarter 2005 Groundwater Monitoring Report
Eckert Cold Storage,Manteca,California
March 31,2005
Page 3
analytical results of the sample collected from MW-4 are generally consistent with historic laboratory
analytical results for that well.
Prior to the December 2004 monitoring event, historic laboratory analytical results of groundwater
samples collected from MW-5 indicated generally very low contaminant concentrations. Laboratory
analytical results of samples collected from MW-5 in December 2004, January 2005, and the current
event conducted on March 9, 2005 indicate higher contaminant concentrations (but with a decreasing
trend in contaminant concentrations). Conversely, prior to the December 2004 monitoring event, historic
laboratory analytical results of groundwater samples collected from MW-8 have indicated generally
elevated contaminant concentrations. Laboratory analytical results of samples collected from MW-8 in
December 2004, January 2005, and the current event conducted on March 9, 2005 indicate lower
contaminant concentrations relative to the historic results.
Historic groundwater monitoring data are included in Attachment C. Laboratory certificates of analyses
and the chain-of-custody documentation for the samples are included in Attachment D. The samples were
analyzed by Argon Laboratories of Ceres, California.
Table 2—Groundwater Sample Laboratory Analytical Results
(March 9, 2005)
GASOLINE OXYGENATES/ADDITIVES
B T E X TPH-G
MTBE Other Gasoline Oxygenates/Additives
Units: lig/L >ag/L uS/L lig/L mg/L µg/L Ag/L
• Analytical Method: 8260B 8260E 8260B 8260B 8015M 8260B 8260B
Sample I.D.
3471 E-MW 1-3/9/05 1. 190 3.2 30 20 0.47 2.9 23(TBA);
3471E-MW4-319/05 10.5 <0.5 <0.5 <1.0 <0.05 15 17(TBA); 19(1,2-DCA);
347 1 E-MW5-3/9/05 310 <5.0 28 8.4 0.75 16 190(TBA);
3471E-MW8-3/9/05 1 0.6 j 10.5 1 1.3 <1.0 <0.05 4.1 17(TBA);4.7(1,2-DCA);
Units: Analytical:
mg/L:milligrams per liter,parts per million(ppm) B,T,E,X=benzene,toluene,ethyl benzene,total xylenes
µg/L:micrograms per liter,parts per billion(ppb) TPH-G=total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline
Gasoline oxygenates/additives= methyl tertiary butyl ether(MTBE),ethanol,
tertiary-butanol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether (DIPS), ethyl tertiary butyl ether
(ETBE), tertiary amyl methyl ether(TAME), 1,2-dibromoethane(EDB), 1,2-
dichloroethane(1,2-DCA)
0=all other oxygenates/additives were not detected at or above the laboratory
reported detection limits
FUTURE WORKIRECOMMENDATIONS
The results of recent groundwater monitoring indicate that the two primary monitoring points of interest
are MW-5 and MW-8 and that future monitoring efforts should be directed to those wells. The next
quarterly monitoring event is scheduled for June 2005. Condor recommends that a meeting be held before
June 2005 to discuss site disposition.
.a CONDOR
