Eckert Cold Storage Company ' 757 Moffat Blvd, Manteca, California ' Receptor Survey 1 ' 1.0 Project Identification WHF, inc., Engineering and Environmental Group (WHF), has been contracted to conduct ' a receptor survey.at Eckert Cold Storage facility at 757 Moffat Blvd., Manteca, California (Figure 1). The purpose of this survey is to identify all, if any, receptors within a one thousand (2,000) foot radii of the contaminated area of the subject site. The data given in this report will provide information leading to the potential impact of mobile contaminants into or toward these receptors. 2.0 Site Description and History ' Eckert Cold Storage Company occupies approximately ten acres of property identified by the San Joaquin County Assessor's Office as 757 Moffat Blvd., in the incorporated city of ' Manteca, in San Joaquin County, California (Figure 1). The facility is utilized for the purpose of processing vegetables and the cold storage of same. The facility cleans, cuts, grades, packages and stores various types of perishable foods. During the normal business ' season the entire ten acre site is utilized by incoming and outgoing trucks, forklifts and personnel until late November each year. ' Eckert Cold Storage Company removed a single 500 gallon gasoline tank (#4) from the site in July, 1986. In April, 1987, a site inspection of the tank removal area was conducted and soil samples were collected at that time. The results of that testing ' indicated contamination of soils had occurred. In February, 1988, the remaining three underground fuel tanks were removed from the ' same.location. No contamination was identified during this sampling event. Because of the gasoline contamination identified in April, 1987, the San Joaquin County ' Public Health Department's Environmental Health Division directed Eckert Cold Storage • Company to investigate the problem and provide a Problem Assessment Report. 1
