1
Ground Water Extraction Feasibility Test Report
LOCAL FOOD STORE
' 2650 Monte Diable Avenue, Stockton, California
' 1.0. INTRODUCTION
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this ground water extraction test report for
' ' 2650 Monte Diable Avenue, Stockton, California The site setting is Illustrated on Figure 1 Site
structures and monitoring well locations are depicted on Figure 2 This report has been prepared in
accordance with guidelines established by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board -
Central Valley Division for investigation of underground storage tank(UST) sites
The objective of the test was to obtain general ground water aquifer characteristics and to evaluate
aquifer response to ground water extraction at a constant pumping rate
r , 2.0. BACKGROUND '
The following are milestone events in the soil and ground water investigation at the site
• 24 March 1999 three USTs, dispensers and piping were removed from the site Total
' petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) was detected in the UST 'grab'-
water samples at concentrations up to 950 Im;lligrams per liter (mg/1) Benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) were detected at'concentrations up 'to 62,900 4
microgram,'per liter (µg/1) Methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE) was also detected at
concentrations up to 32,650 µg/1 in the water samples Total lead was, detected in the same
samples at concentiatlons up to 0 $6 mg/l
4
13 April 2000, ten soil probe borings (Bl through B10) were advanced at the site TPH-g, '
BTEX, MTBE and/or tertiary butanol (TBA) were detected in each of eight grab bround
water samples Low concentrations of TPH-g and BTEX were detected in soil samples
' 'collected, from four of the ten soil bonngs Significant concentrations of MTBE were
detected in soil samples collected from a boring advanced near the former tank pit
- '23 I I
May 2000 three ground water monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-3),were installed,
fn 02 October 2000, one ground water monitoring well (MW-4) was installed,Iand
, • f I i "
Quarterly ground water sampling and reporting has been ongoing since June 2000
I I
I j The approximate lateral extent of impacted soil;and ground water has been, defined by the installation -
I I of soil borings and the current monitoring well network 'The vertical extent of dissolved
hydrocarbons m,the;former UST area may require additional assessment i
V „ r
1
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
