C A M B R I A Mr Harlin Knoll <br /> April 5, 2005 <br /> Over-excavation Cambria proposes to conduct aver-excavation in the gasoline UST excavation <br /> shown on Figure 2, based on preliminary analytical data following the UST, dispenser, and piping <br /> removal Cambria will attempt to remove impacted soil in these areas to the extent that is feasible <br /> Cambria estimates that we will excavate the outlined areas (Figure 2) to approximately 19 feet <br /> below grade (5 feet deeper than the existing excavation), generating approximately 100 to <br /> 150 cubic yards of soil The final extent of over-excavation will be based on field observations and <br /> photo-ionization detector measurements <br /> Soil Sampling and Chemical Analyses Cambria will collect soil samples below the original UST <br /> samples from the bottom of the excavation at its final depth to document soil conditions Soil <br /> samples will be analyzed ter total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline, benzene, toluene, <br /> ethylbenzene, xylenes, and fuel oxygenates by EPA Method 8260B Cambria will request a <br /> standard two-week turn-around time for the laboratory results <br /> Soil Disposal Soil generated during over-excavation activities will either be stockpiled on site or <br /> directly loaded into trucks for transportation to Allied Waste's Forward Landfill in Manteca, <br /> Calitorma under an existing profile <br /> • Report Preparation Following the receipt of analytical results from the laboratory, Cambria will <br /> prepare a written report, which will include field procedures, laboratory results, and conclusions <br /> This report will document both the initial UST, dispenser, and product piping removal and the <br /> ! <br /> subsequent over-excavation activities <br /> The scope of work described in this work plan will be performed under the supervision of a <br /> professional geologist <br /> SCHEDULE <br /> Cambria proposes to conduct these over-excavation activities on April 7, 2005, with approval from <br /> SJCEHD <br /> r <br /> 0 <br /> '4 <br /> 2 <br />
