A M B R I A <br /> HYDROCARBON DISTRIBUTION IN GROUNDWATER <br /> TPHg and BTEX were not detected in groundwater samples from any of the wells MTBE was <br /> detected in groundwater samples collected from wells MW-2 and MW-3 at concentrations of 54 <br /> and 210 ppb, respectively No other fuel oxygenates were detected in groundwater samples <br /> collected from the wells <br /> The groundwater chemical analytical data are summarized in the well concentrations table in <br /> Blaine's report (Appendix D), and the benzene and MTBE concentrations are presented on <br /> Figure 3 Blaine's report includes laboratory analytical data(Appendix D) <br /> CONCLUSIONS <br /> Groundwater monitoring wells MW-7 through MW-9 were installed to further assess the lateral <br /> extent of impacted groundwater beneath the site Exploratory soil boring CPT-3 was attempted <br /> to further assess the vertical extent of impacted soil and groundwater beneath the site This <br /> boring could not be completed as refusal was encountered <br /> • <br /> TPHg, benzene, and fuel oxygenates other than MTBE have not been detected in soil beneath the <br /> site The lateral extent of MTBE detected in soil samples DP-4 and SB-1 is defined in all <br /> directions by samples from borings SB-2, MW-2, MW-6, and MW-7 <br /> The vertical extent of xylenes detected in soil sample DP-4 is defined above 6 fbg by soil <br /> samples from boring SB-1 MTBE impacted soil in the vicinity of SB-1 extends to groundwater <br /> Cambria attempted to collect soil samples below groundwater using CPT equipment, but could <br /> not advance the CPT boring beyond 54 fbg <br /> TPHg, BTEX, and fuel oxygenates other than MTBE and TAME have not been detected in <br /> groundwater beneath the site The lateral extent of MTBE and TAME in groundwater is defined <br /> in all directions by wells MW-4 through MW-9 <br /> RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> In order to further assess the vertical extent of MTBE and TAME in groundwater beneath the <br /> site, Cambria recommends installing a deep well at the site If SJCEHD concurs with this <br /> recommendation, Cambria will submit a work plan proposing the well <br /> 0953 6 <br /> k <br />
