FUGRO WEST, INC <br /> November 29, 1995 w1050 Melody Lane,suite 160 <br /> Roseville California95678 <br /> Tel (916 <br /> Fugro Project No 9347-0085 (916)782 2110 <br /> FAX (916)786 7830 <br /> Mr Harlin Knoll <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> Post Office Box 388 �y <br /> Stockton, California 95201-0388 <br /> w <br /> Subject: Subsurface Investigation Results <br /> Shell Service Station (WIC No 204-7524-4107) <br /> 7700 Moreland Court, Stockton, California <br /> Site Code 1819 <br /> Dear Mr Knoll <br /> On behalf of Shelf Oil Products Company (Shell), Fugro West, Inc (Fugro), is providing <br /> this report documenting the results of a subsurface investigation performed at the above site on <br /> September 20 and 21, 1995 (Figures 1 and 2) The investigation was performed at the request <br /> . of San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (SJCPHS) in a <br /> letter to Shell dated March 8, 1995, requiring further investigation in the vicinity of the former <br /> underground storage tanks (USTs) and western dispenser islands and to comply with the <br /> requirements of the Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund Program (SB 2004) <br /> The purpose of this investigation was to (1) assess the extent of adsorbed-phase <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons in the subsurface soil beneath the former UST basin and near the <br /> existing western dispenser islands and (2) determine whether petroleum hydrocarbons detected <br /> in the soil during the removal of steel USTs and piping have attenuated through natural <br /> processes <br /> All field work was conducted according to Fugro's Standard Operating Procedures <br /> (Attachment 1) and the May 31, 1995 workplan prepared by Fugro and approved by the SJCPHS <br /> This investigation was limited to the following scope of work <br /> • Advance soil borings GEO1 through GE04 up to 38 feet below grade (bg) at the <br /> locations shown on Figure 2, Site Plan Borings GE02 and GE03 were drilled <br /> at angles of 25 and 15 degrees, respectively <br /> • Collect soil samples at 5-foot intervals and backfill borings with neat cement <br /> I <br /> 9347-0085 ARP <br /> A member of the Fugro group of companies with offices throughout the world <br />
