Site Background Information/Site Conceptual Model <br /> Former MEL BOKIDES PETROLEUM, INC. - MOSSDALE <br /> 444 Mossdale Road, Lathrop, California <br /> The site is located on Mossdale Road in an Incorporated commercial/agricultural area of Lathrop, <br /> California A new fuel station is presently active at the site There is one structure consisting of an <br /> office and station building, the remaining areas of the site consists of either paved or concrete <br /> surfaces One domestic groundwater well is 1 Gated on the property and an additional domestic well <br /> is located on the adjacent property to thP&Rrrof the site \/YnJ_y6 -06 <br />' A set of three underground storage tanks (UST's) and three main dispenser Islands operated on the <br /> site for approximately 15 years,from the mid 1980s to the late 1990s The three UST's were removed <br /> from a common excavation near the northwest corner of the site The history of the UST's use,tank <br /> tests,product inventory, and repairs are not known to AGE 1h4,rtJar� e, need �az,%,Ap u-,,s%1e. <br />' The surrounding sites are used for boat storage/sales and agriculture A California Department of <br /> Transportation road right-of-way is located west and north of the site <br />' REGIONAL GEOLOGIC/HYDROGEOLOGIC SETTING <br />' . The site is located within the northern San Joaquin Valley,which comprises part of the Great Valley <br /> geomorphic province of California The San Joaquin Valley is formed by the Great Valley <br /> geosyncline,which is a large,elongate,northwest-trending,asymmetrical structural trough(basin) <br />' It is bordered by the Coast Ranges to the west, the Klamath Mountains and Cascade Range to the <br /> north, and the Sierra Nevada to the east This trough has been filled with sediments derived from <br /> both marine and continental sources Thickness of the sedimentary fill ranges from thin veneers <br />' along the valley edges to greater than 20,000 feet in the south central portion of the valley The <br /> sedimentary formations vary In age from Jurassic to Recent,with the older deposits being primarily <br /> marine in origin and the younger deposits being primarily continental Continental-derived <br />' sediments were typically deposited in lacustrme, fluvial, and alluvial environments with sources <br /> being the mountain ranges surrounding the valley The site is located on unconsolidated and semi- <br /> consolidated alluvium, lake, playa, and terrace deposits of Quaternary age <br />' The Modesto Riverbank, and Turlock Lake Formations and overlying Recent alluvium are the <br /> principal sources of domestic ground water in the 13,500-square mile San Joaquin Valley Ground <br />' Water Basin(Basin 5-22) <br /> The San Joaquin ver is the nearest surface water feature in the vicinity of the property, located <br />' approximately �;Meet east of the site The San Joaquin River is primarily used for commercial <br /> and recreational boating, as well as agriculture The channel contains water continually and has a <br />' potential tidal effect upon ground water depth or flow direction in the area <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> 1 <br />
