AGE-NC Project No 99-0570
A y
TPH-g and TPH-d were detected in grab water samples collected from CPT2-89 at concentrations
' of 120 µg/l and 95µg/1,respectively These detections are likely due to silt within the water sample
causing a false detection of TPH-d 1
' No other constituents of concern were detected at or above laboratory reporting limits in any of the
ground water samples collected from'HU2
' HU3
' Grab groundwater samples CPT2-110 and CPT3-110 were collected from HU3 (Table 2) -
TPH-g and TPH-d were detected in grab water samples collected from CPT2-110 at concentrations
' of 380 µg/1 and 380µg/1, respectively These detections are likely due to a detection of general
biological impact to the site, like natural ethene from a septic system or silt within the water sample
causing a false detection of TPH-d ?
' The BTEX compounds toluene and ethylbenzene were detected in ground water samples collected
from CPT2-110 at concentrations of 13 µg/1 and 10 µg/l, respectively However, gas
1 . chromatography mass spectrophotometer analysis did not identify either of these compounds
' No other constituents of concern were detected at or above laboratory reporting limits in any of the
ground water samples collected from HU3
The laboratory report (MAI Lab I D 0312192-001 B to 0312192-008B) Quality Assurance and
' Quality Control(QA/QC)report and chain-of-custody form are included in Appendix B Analytical
results of the CPT grab ground water samples are summarized in Table 5
1
4.0. SUMMARY/CONCLUSIONS
' The following cbnclusions were drawn from the results of this investigation
' • Alternating layers of poorly graded sand, silty sand and silty clay are encountered in varying
thicknesses throughout the site Lithology is generally consistent across the site
• TPH-g and TPH-d were detected in grab ground water samples collected from HU2 and HU3
' in boring CPT2, yet these, low detections may be from matrix interference?
• BTEX compounds toluene and ethylbenzene were detected by EPA method 8020 in grab
' ground water samples from HU3 in boring CPT2, yet were not confirmed by GCMS
' Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
I
