I
Quarterly Report - Second Quarter 2002
Mel Bokides Petroleum Inc.
' 444 Mossdale Road, Lathrop, California
' 1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr Nick Bokides of Mel Bokides Petroleum Inc ,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, `
' Inc (AGE)has prepared the enclosed report for the former Mel Bokides Petroleum facility located
at 444 Mossdale Road,Lathrop, California(the site) The scope of work included monitoring of the
' ground water monitoring well network on the site and preparation of this report The site setting is
illustrated on Figure 1 Site structures, previous borings and monitoring well locations are depicted
on Figure 2
' The field work was performed in accordance with Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control
Board(CV-RWQCB)and San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(EHD)guidelines
' for subsurface investigations of underground storage tank(UST)sites and ground water monitoring
well sampling procedures, respectively The site history and a description of work previously
performed at the site were presented in the AGE-prepared Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation
' Report (PIER), dated 01 March 2000
' • 2.0. PROCEDURES
On 27 June 2002,ground water monitoring and sampling were performed at the site on wells MW-1
' through MW-5
' 2 1 WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION
A Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in monitoring wells
' MW-1 through MW-5 After depth to ground water measurements were taken, a minimum of
3 casing-water volumes were purged from each well to be sampled using dedicated, disposable
' bailers Seven to eight gallons of water were removed from each well Temperature, pH and
conductivity of purged ground water were measured at 1-gallon intervals using an ICM water
analyzer The field data sheets are included in Appendix A
' Purged water was temporarily stored on-site in 55-gallon DOT-approved H-17 storage drums
pending proper disposal Following purging, the depth to ground water was measured to ensure that
' a minimum of 80%well-volume recharge had been achieved prior to sampling
' Advanced GeoEnvlronmenlal,Inc
I
