IPreliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report <br /> MBP MOSSDALE <br /> I444 Mossdale Road, Lathrop, California <br /> 1.0. INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br /> At the request of Mr Nick Bokides,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has.prepared this <br /> preliminary investigation and evaluation report (PIER) for Mel Bokides Petroleum located at 444 <br /> Mossdale Road, Lathrop, California (site) The location of the site is illustrated in Figure 1, a site <br /> Iplan is shown in Figure 2 <br /> The scope of work included the advancement of eight soil probe borings to evaluate the lateral and <br /> I vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil and ground water This report is prepared in <br /> accordance with guidelines established by the San Joaquin County Public Health Services - <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and by the Central Valley Regional Water Quality <br /> Control Board for investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites <br />' 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> . The site is located in an incorporated, commercial/agricultural area of Lathrop, California, on <br /> Mossdale Road (Figure 1) The site is presently under construction to install a new fuel station <br /> 21 SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The major portion of site consists of asphalt or concrete paved area One building containing an <br /> office and store is located on the property (Figure 2) One domestic ground water well is located on <br /> the property and an additional domestic well is located on the property east of the site The <br /> surrounding sites are used for boat storage/sales and for agricultural purposes, a California <br /> Department of Transportation road right-of-way is located west and north of the site <br /> Three USTs, dispensers and piping were active on the site for approximately 15 years, from the mid <br /> 1980s to the late 1990s The UST removals were witnessed by a representative of the PHS-EHD The <br /> history of the USTs use, tank tests, product inventory and repairs are not known to AGE <br /> 2 2 UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br /> On 05 February 1998, one 10,000-gallon gasoline UST,one 8,000-gallon diesel UST and one 8,000- <br /> gallon gasoline UST were removed from the site by Dan Samuels Construction The approximate <br /> locations of the former USTs, product piping and dispenser samples are shown on Figure 2 <br /> The three USTs were removed from a common excavation near the northwest corner of the site The <br /> • former fuel dispensers were located east of the USTs Following removal of the USTs, an AGE <br /> representative collected 20 soil samples from the former UST, dispenser, and product line locations <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> I <br />
